Good food, friendly fast service, open early.
Place is small, location is great! Awesome flavor of the neighborhood!! Exactly what I was looking for my first morning in Boston!! Not sure what I had, I just asked for something good. Number 4 was a winner for me. Casual and friendly atmosphere.
It was a little crowded, but the service was quick. They accept cash only and have an ATM in the store for your convenience. The food tasted like a delicious home cooked meal with the price being fairly cheap.I gave it 4 stars solely because of the inconvenience of having to pay cash, when I almost never carry cash. Besides that the food, service, and price was excellent!
No fuss, no muss. Just simple great food. Banana pancakes are great.
Stumbled upon this cute breakfast place on our tour of Boston. Lines to get inside made us decide to give it a try. Service was great. Food was good. Typically greasy spoon breakfast. I have never seen paper plates in a restaurant before but it worked well for them to keep people moving.
Cheap and cheerful, cash only for American breakfast.
Awesome meat lovers omelette and Italian bread, highly recommend...
Great breakfast and conversation with the owner, Anthony. Great, small, family run Cafe in the North end.
Great french toast
One of my favorite breakfast spots in Boston. Always friendly service and quick, delicious food. Cash only!
If you don't like it fancy but like good home cooking and eating with the locals, you've come to the right place.
This place is very convenient for breakfast and lunch. It’s a small place on the corner in pink. I got the French Toast with sausage and would recommend. Very crowded people always here. Would come back.
Cash only, but it’s quick and cheap and fills the pit! We ate here for breakfast for $15 for two people - not shabby at all!
My second time ordering here. I ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken and asked for no onions. I didn't know that Greek salad vines with no feta cheese. I asked the lady for feta cheese and offered to pay if it was extra, she refused, but after walking away I hear her complained to the cook and said, 'ey Stupida'. Besides there poor customer service, the salad is fresh, but the chicken. There chicken is reheated on the grill.
Anthony's is truly a hidden gem in the north end of Boston. A great breakfast spot just a short walk from Marriott long wharf. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches are the best. The food was hot and delicious, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The next time your in Boston and want a reasonably priced great breakfast Anthinys is your place.
If you are visiting Boston and are anywhere near Anthony’s, I highly recommend stopping in. They have wonderful breakfast food and sandwiches. My favorite was the sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. I wish I had the time to try everything on the menu! Cash only but well worth it.
Friendly staff, great breakfast, good atmosphere. The restaurant was interesting to look at, and even the patrons were interesting people. I would recommend it to anybody looking for an affordable quick bite.
That corner spot that treats you like a regular, even when it's your first time. Breakfast was good. #highlyrecommended
Little greasy spoon; so good, I ate twice.
Good food, reasonably priced, friendly folks. I get to Boston one week a year and have breakfast at Anthony's every day.
Casual dining (paper plates & plastic cutlery), but really good breakfast. You cannot go wrong with the French toast or any of the breakfast sandwiches. Small dining space indoors so definitely opt to eat outside if you like to spread out. Cash only!
Good food.

Great service
Very small, but food was great and priced right. We went for breakfast.
Great breakfast lunch dinner in the North end. Friendly personable staff. Highly recommend if you are in the area can't go wrong.
I loved the food and the staff were really nice.
Great place, better people!
Simple, small place...but DELICIOUS! And very friendly staff.
Fast, easy, reliable cafe breakfast.I'd call this "home style" in that they cook and present it much more like you'd probably do it at home than a fancy, sit-down restaurant or even a diner. The food is tasty, and not trying to be anything it isn't. This is reflected in the prices -- two can be out for just ~$20 plus tip.Cash-only, but they have an ATM machine available inside. They're fast, although I haven't been in when they're busy. Going in before 8am on weekdays usually has no line and maybe one other tables food ahead of me. I can be out within 20-25 minutes.
Paid $15 for an omlette with hash and tea--it was not worth the money and not very good. Service was good, but the place was dingy and the food was mediocre at best.
They are the best, friendly staff, great affordable food for the locals and travellers.
Wow! What a great breakfast we enjoyed this morning. Small shop owner operated. If your away from home and want a comfort home style breakfast , this is the place.A few tables inside, a few tables outside. My wife and I had a group conversation with the adjacent diners who were proud veterans,. and wow! it was awesome.Go here if you want great food and terrific patrons.
Great place for a quick bite, very friendly staff, treats you like they’ve known you for years even though it was my first trip to Boston. Highly recommended!
Decided to stop here for breakfast. I came from New York and I love to eat local when traveling. This is a very small place. Nothing fancy, however it was so comfortable and the food was so good. The people who work here were so nice and welcoming. Absolutely worth stopping in !!
Great little Imbiss-Diner. We had brunch there and were satisfied with our fried eggs, home fries and Bagels. It's not a luxurious restaurant but a place to get solid, honest food for a reasonable price.
It was a rainy Sunday morning and my group was headed towards another popular place for breakfast but it was crowded and I decided to follow locals. They lead me to Anthony’s. The place is top notch and I will visit every time I am in Boston.
We came to Boston for vacations and we were looking for a local diner to have some breakfast. The hotel concierge recommended this local place so we gave it a try. I can tell you, this place serves excellent breakfast. Don’t let the small place and plastic cutlery fool you. The corn beef hash and the banana pancakes are really good. Also, the french toasts are excellent. And the best part, the pricing is great. If you don’t mind some plastic cutlery and plates, you won’t be disappointed with this place.
Definitely a locals place but food was good and cheap and very much the diner food we expected.
Accomodated us during the blizzard. Very friendly service and the food is great. Recommended for diner brunch
Polite, comfortable, exactly the cafe you need at 5.30am.
Nothing fancy here.. If you want fancy, go to a fancy-schmancy place elsewhere. This is good home cooking at a decent price. Walk right in, go to the counter, order the food, pay cash for your food, grab a seat and wait for the love to happen. If I had beef about anything, everything literally comes right out of the pan and onto your plate. Therefore, a little greasy so you might want to dab the bacon off a little bit before inserting it into your pie hole. :-)A lot of locals come here and being an out-of-town‘r, I enjoyed listening to some of these conversations. I don’t hear this kind of talk back in Chicago. This is good Bostonian love. Enjoyed my sausage, bacon, eggs and toast with coffee and orange juice. Out the door, $15. I’ll be back again.
One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. Nothing fancy but delicious and at a good price.
If you're looking for a comforting, greasy-spoon kind of breakfast, they've got you covered!
Great little spot to eat.The food was delicious.
Went at 6am recently. Live in neighborhood for 20 years and every year or two I stop by to see what the good reviews are about, because I’ve never been impressed with the food, paper and plastic they serve with, and the old wobbly tables outside. Again disappointed. Even at 6am i have to step up to an open cardboard box full of dirty breakfast plates and garbage in front of the counter you order food and take away. How is that possible? See ya in a couple years.
So I'm traveling for business, last stop Boston, or better Bosh ton, looking for a hometown breakfast place, I ask a local guy for a breakfast place, he tells me and I go, I get there and just like he said it's an hour wait looks like a great place but I'm not doing an hour, so I keep looking and find this place, Anthony place, family run, cash only, I can tell cause the kids are serving and behind the grill, pops at the cashier, I order the french toast and coffee. What seems like the daughter, brings me my order on a paper plate and coffee in a foam cup. No frills no tourist bs, just a hard working family making it happen in tourist majority, Boshton harbor, just what I was looking for. If your in town, skip the "star.." across the street or the one hour wait, check out Tony's, say hi to the family and pop will take your order. Cash only.
Visited in January 2017, certainly no frills but solid breakfast food for a good price.
Its better than some not as good as others Portions are big but VERY greasy Super friendly staff
